Humanoid Robotics Group (HRG for short) has been investigating fundamental technologies of humanoid robotics including the design, dynamics simulation, motion control and motion planning of humanoid robots. The current topics of HRG are the development of humanoid robot HRP-2, the dynamics simulator for it, motion pattern generator for biped locomotion with the feedback balancer especially for walking on a rough terrain, falling motion planning to minimize the damage when the robot tips over, and motion planning of standing up motion from the floor. HRP also studies the applications of humanoid robots including teleoperations of industrial machines by humanoid robot HRP-1S and construction works in the open air.
